SUMMARY:Research Seminar: Optimising Indoor Environments for Health and Wellbeing
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe ASHRAE Student Branch at the University of Strathclyde\, in collaboration with the Strathclyde Centre for Doctoral Training in Energy-Efficient Indoor Climate Control for Optimised Health (EICCOH)\, hosted an informal research seminar on healthy buildings and indoor environments. \nThe seminar brought together PhD students\, early career researchers\, academics\, and industry professionals to share research\, discuss new ideas\, and build connections across disciplines related to health\, housing\, and energy-efficient building design. \nSeminar Topics\nThe seminar included discussions on topics such as: \n\nVentilation and indoor air quality and their impact on respiratory health\nUsing housing and health data to support early risk identification\nOccupant behaviour in energy-efficient homes\nEquity\, diversity\, and inclusion in indoor climate standards and building design\nEarly life environmental exposures and their effects on health and learning\nEvaluating indoor climate control strategies in energy-efficient buildings\n\nResearch Presentations\nThe event featured short presentations from researchers\, together with invited talks from industry professionals. The inauguration was led by ASHRAE President Dennis Knight\, marking the beginning of our Student Branch as part of the global ASHRAE community. \nThe symposium brought together academics\, researchers\, students\, and industry professionals to discuss the future of healthy\, energy-efficient\, and net-zero housing.
