Student Activities Committee

The Student Activities Committee connects chapters with local schools and universities, supports student branches, coordinates scholarships, provides industry guidance, and promotes HVAC&R education. The committee engages students through presentations, counseling, and outreach, while helping graduating members transition into professional membership. See more here.

Membership Promotion

The Membership Promotion Committee (MP) recruits new members, supports engagement across all industry sectors, encourages advancement to higher membership grades, and helps retain current members. The committee organizes membership drives, encourages joining at chapter meetings, ensures proper recognition, works to boost retention, coordinates with regional leadership, and collaborates with Student Activities and YEA to sustain long-term membership.

Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Committee

The Young Engineers in ASHRAE Committee (YEA) shall enhance member benefits for young professional ASHRAE members, 35 years old and younger, by identifying, creating, and supporting activities and services focused on their needs. A primary focus of the committee will be attracting and developing YEA members for future membership and leadership in ASHRAE and the HVAC&R industry. The committee also collaborates with Student Activities to help graduating students transition into active YEA members.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEI) fosters a welcoming, inclusive chapter by supporting diverse membership and volunteer engagement. The committee coordinates programs, builds awareness, and partners with other committees such as MP, Student Activities, CTTC and YEA to attract, retain, and empower members from all backgrounds while creating opportunities for connection and professional growth.

Research Promotion Committee

The Research Promotion Committee (RP) supports ASHRAE research by communicating its value, raising funds, and coordinating chapter participation in annual campaigns. The committee engages local businesses, promotes Foundation and scholarship contributions, organizes goals and donor recognition, and works with regional leadership to advance Society-sponsored research.

Chapter Technology Transfer Committee

The Chapter Technology Transfer Committee (CTTC) delivers technical programs and resources to support member education and industry advancement. The committee coordinates speakers, shares technical updates, promotes Technology Awards, and collaborates with chapter and region leaders to ensure high quality programs that strengthen knowledge across all HVAC&R disciplines.

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee (GAC) connects chapters with government officials and policy makers to advance the Society’s public policy priorities. The committee as supported by the Society-level GAC through RVCs shares policy and regulatory updates, provides organizational support and communication tools for government outreach to help members effectively engage with government entities.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee manages the chapter’s messaging across newsletters, its website, social media, and digital platforms. The committee supports chapter leadership by sharing timely updates, promoting programs and events, maintaining online systems, and coordinating tools and strategies that keep members informed, connected, and engaged.

Historical Committee

The Historical Committee preserves the chapter’s legacy by documenting major events, collecting photos and records, interviewing long-time members, and maintaining archives. The committee prepares annual updates, supports newsletter content, creates historical displays, and contributes materials for regional and Society-level history awards.

Honors and Awards Committee

The Honors and Awards Committee (H&A) promotes recognition of outstanding chapter members by identifying achievements and submitting nominations for chapter, regional, and Society-level awards. The committee maintains chapter awards and banners while encouraging members to pursue honors that reflect their professional and volunteer contributions.
